This third volume of the Survey of Philippine Development Research compiles the papers presented during the seminar-workshop on “A Program of Research on Health and Development” held on December 17-18, 1986, sponsored by the Philippine Institute for Development Studies and the University of the Philippines School of Economics. These state-of-the-art review papers on health have been put together to identify research gaps and issues on health policies to assist PIDS in formulating a research agenda on health. It is therefore hoped that these papers will contribute to the efforts of identifying future directions for health policies in the country.
